Property Distributor

The Property Distributor panel from MotioPI Professional streamlines the process of managing Cognos Object properties.  Cognos authors are granted the ability to update, add, delete and modify properties across large quantities of Cognos objects in the same amount of time it takes to perform the same action on ONE object in Cognos Connection!

Consider the following scenario:  "A new segment of users has been created and I need to grant them a set of permissions on a number of reports, queries and packages in Cognos.  I need to add very specific permission properties to hundreds of Cognos Objects. The task is very tedious and would traditionally require a few days of work to complete!"  MotioPI Pro's Property Distributor feature was designed to greatly simplify this task. 

MotioPI Professional's Property Distributor enables Cognos professionals to blast properties and parameters from a prototype object onto groups of target objects from both Public and My Folders.   This includes Cognos Objects such as reports, report views, schedules, queries, packages, folders, report templates & views and analysis objects.  

The Property Distributor offers pre- and post distribution validation of the Cognos objects that will be affected and safeguards against mistakes by creating backups of the target objects.
